DLSU Green Archers wins against Ateneo Blue Eagles! 65 - 60

September 30, 2007 · Filed Under College Life and DLSU · 6 Comments

Hahaha, finally we won’t hear another sermon from one of our early professors tomorrow regarding losing another game to Ateneo. DLSU Green Archers win with 65 points against Ateneo Blue Eagles’ 60 points.

DLSU 65 vs. ATENEO 60

My sister being able to get some tickets from her friends, went to Cubao earlier to join them, while our whole family stayed at home and watched the game in my parents bedroom. We were all cheering and screaming for La Salle, but it was mom who was cheering the most. Hahaha.

Oh well, I guess everything will be going back to normal in school now since the tension caused by the uncertainty of the men’s basketball team making it into the finals has now dissipated. So the scalpers still have a business for the next few games since students from the campus would still be interested. Heh.

P.S. When Ateneo was able to shoot another 3 points a few seconds before the clock, I seriously felt scared that it would be a repeat of the last game’s ending. Fortunately the team was able to shoot some more to compensate for it. :D

Updated: DLSU gets wi-fi and a random paid survey website

September 28, 2007 · Filed Under Blogging and Technology, College Life and DLSU · 5 Comments

So that’s why there was a sudden rush of students who have their laptops around in the campus. I was wondering a few days back and was talking with my sister about the new students and their laptops. We were thinking that maybe its the new thing for freshmen. Then while activating my My.Lasalle account earlier, I saw the announcement about the wi-fi implementation in the campus. Before it was only in the library and you had to have the card from the library and stick it in your notebook for the wi-fi to work. Now there are lots of hot spots in the campus making it easier for the students to access the university’s network.

I’ll update this entry later, i have to leave the library now and meet my sister. :)

Update: Sorry I just got back online got home really late yesterday. :)

I haven’t fully read as to which places don’t have the hots pots available but from what I remember most of the places in the campus have it. Now I want my own laptop even more. :( Well, I guess I’d just have to get used to drooling and ogling on all those *HOT* laptops I see all over the campus until I get enough to get myself one.

By the way, Jean told me about a paid survey site she was a member of and I decided to try it. I don’t earn huge sums from it, but the small amounts help when they pile up. Please be reminded that it is not a get rich quick scheme because it will really take you some time to earn decent money from it, but its not that hard if you have the time to answer some of the available surveys on a daily basis. Also a few spare bucks can help to buy you coffee and a donut or maybe even some hosting and domains, or even just add to your grocery budget. Its quite easy to finish, since each survey is only made up of a few questions. The hitch on the program is that you have to post it in your blog.

You don’t necessarily have to make a new single post for every survey you answer. You can just include it in your posts, maybe at the end part of it just for it not to take so much space on your entries. To be able to earn as well, you have to post in in a blog that is at least 90 days old. But I think it depends too since some surveys had no blog age requirement when I read around the site. Also you need a PayPal account to be able to get paid since they send it to your account after your account reaches at least $5. You don’t have to do it everyday and it really just depends on you if you want to do the surveys or not.

So there, part of the reason why I posted this is because some of my entries might have the surveys attached to it in the end part, so I hope you guys aren’t bothered by it. In case you are interested to join please click the link below. It is a referral link, and its up to you if you want to help me with a few cents by joining under my referral or not.

Note: Free wordpress users might not be able to use their blogs for this. I don’t know about wordpress.com’s ads or income generation policies using their free blog services so please check with them first if you are unsure as well. I think most of the other free blog sites work like: Blogger, LiveJournal, Friendster, MySpace, Yahoo 360and others. You can learn more by checking their site out on the link above.

Finding my way back into…

September 5, 2007 · Filed Under College Life and DLSU, Random Ramblings · 12 Comments

Alright, the title sounds cheesy, but I love the song “Way Back Into Love”, and singing it awhile ago, I remembered I’ll be back on class this Monday. :( I’m both happy and sad. Happy since this means I will be able to get back on track, and hopefully finish the rest of my needed units till April, to be able to graduate on June. Sad since I don’t know much people anymore.

I’ve taken 3 consecutive leaves (so thats actually a year) after enrolling each term (and lasting a month then…boom.. I have to stop since the headaches start again), because I was suffering from what my neurologist said to be “cluster headaches”. It was terrible, and the medications I had to take made me so lethargic. I was given lots of relaxants to help ease the stress that was in part causing the headaches. It has been a very grueling experience and it saddens me a lot since I didn’t graduate on the date as everyone was expecting. It was hard to actually stay at home since I felt pretty much useless and tired, also I felt like I was a burden. Imagine, everyone was expecting that I will be graduating already and then I don’t. My aunt who helps in my tuition sent in money and it was wasted because I cannot get any refunds anymore after a month of classes has passed. Also the medicines had added extra expenses for my parents who have been struggling to send us all to school and still be able to keep us fed and alive.

I felt worthless, but I’m glad it happened. I learned many things while I was away from school. I was so stressed of school because everyone was expecting this and that, to the point that its all I think of and can’t even sleep at night. I’ve learned to not give in to what other people expect or want me to be. I can’t please everyone, and every time I try to, I just end up stressed because I have accepted too much obligations and responsibilities that what I can really handle. I like to multi-task, but I have found out that in doing so I risk my health and my life too.

This time when I go back to school, I’m taking everything a day at a time. I’ll finish eventually, and I’ll appreciate school more if I actually enjoyed my experiences rather than worry and stress over it. Hopefully once class starts, I’ll find my way back into loving college life and the experiences it brings me. Who knows I might even meet new friends and find something else too. :P
