Leaving so soon.
I haven’t been blogging for quite sometime since my mom’s aunt (my lola) who lives in the US came back here and stayed for almost a month. We will be taking her back to the airport today because her flight is scheduled at 5 am. Overall her stay with us was a pleasant one and I will miss her a lot. She will be back again next year but for a much shorter time because she would be joining a group of friends from their community in Alaska in a cruise. She would then be leaving her group behind to go back here and spend a week or two and then she’ll go with my mom to Hongkong and Thailand.
I’m not sure which exact cruise they’ll be in, its might be Princess Cruises but I’m not really sure. I looked for it and I think I like the places they’ll be visiting that’s why mom said if things get better by then, we might also take a cruise vacation. But since many of our relatives live in Alaska, I suggested to mom that maybe we can try getting the Royal Caribbean since one of the destinations of their ships is Alaska.
Although one of mom’s friends who have experiences with cruises already suggested the Norwegian Cruise Line as one of the ships we look at as well. Right now we are still looking at all available options but I will surely start saving so I can have some extra pocket money when next year comes.

Why GoPets and its community ROCKS!
Lately I wasn’t feeling good so I haven’t posted much. I was starting to feel tired and I know I needed to do something to take my mind of everything that has been bothering me for the past weeks and since the trip to Puerto isn’t up yet I had to find another way to enjoy myself. I used to play GoPets back then. I had taken a long hiatus from the game since last February 2007 since I was experiencing my cluster headache crisis plus the problems I had with my leave of absences at the university I decided to check it out again even when I knew there would be so many changes and many people probably had forgotten me.
In case you don’t know what GoPets is, the homepage says :
GoPets is a community that is made up of both real people and virtual 3D pets that live on their owners’ desktops. Each GoPet is a visually and emotionally unique creature that eats, sleeps, and plays with its owner. When a GoPet gets bored or restless, it leaves its home desktop to wander the net, visiting the desktops of other GoPets users.
When it travels, your GoPet visits your close friends and also introduces you to other users with similar interests. The GoPets service provides several modes of communication (including Instant Chat, web messages, and IKU, a unique icon-based message system) that you can use to strengthen your ties to your friends.
You can purchase items for your and other users’ GoPets through the Shopping link of the GoPets website. Items can be purchased using Shells, the GoPets currency. There are three kinds of Shells: Gold, Pink, and Green. Green Shells are automatically earned through activity in the GoPets service (for example, just staying logged in to GoPets earns you a continuous trickle of Green Shells), while Pink Shells are given to users who undertake creative activities (like making new IKU icons). Gold Shells are purchased using real money. Each kind of Shell can be used to purchase particular items at GoPets stores (some items have Green Shell prices, some have Pink, and some have Gold).
When I got back at the forums, it was like coming back home. Though there are many new players and a lot of the old players I knew had left, much of the community I know still exists. I was welcomed by old players such as Asynjur, Meep, Shirley and Chii who have been my friends there. I was having client troubles but Asynjur helped me so much that I am very thankful to her. I wouldn’t have gotten the new installer without her help.
After installing and logging in, I was really overwhelmed by the changes that had happened. Good thing many players were again there to help me out and thats why I’ve started to enjoy the game once again. There is a new specie already which are Pandas which can be adopted using MSN and boy are they cute. xD I have 4 pets already 3 of which are female cats and one male dog.
I have taught my pets crafting. My Pixie is a farmer, Minea is a chef, Benjie Bean is a fisher while Celeine is learning to tailor. Its hard at first but with the help of the GP community I was able to start over and get into the changes. One of the most significant changes would be GoLand. In here we can now have 10 lands each and travel there as well to our friends lands to check their desktops. We can finally setup our favorite theme lands without having to get alternate accounts. My main land is currently under construction since I’m trying to make it my farm where I can harvest fruits and plants with Pixie, so Minea would have ingredients for her cooking and Celeine for her tailoring.
Here’s a screenshot of my two sheeps and my banana trees:

The sheep drops fleece which is picked up by my farmer and then used by my tailor. The banana trees drop bananas which my chef uses in making her banana split recipes.
This is my other land which is at 118, 134 which will be used for my April Fools Birthday Beach Party in GoPets:

The pets have many stuff to play with there since I filled it with toys and other beach stuff. (I’m just too excited for my outing that I had to make a beach land in GoPets, hehe.)
Look at Pixie cook barbecue while Celeine rests and looks at the wonderful beach view:

Below, Pixie got a bit tired cooking so she went and started playing with an RC car that we won before when the new minigames such as Eets and Diner Dash were first released in GoPets. (Yup we can play the DinerDash2 and Eets full versions by paying with gold shells. Wheeee!)

Then I saw Minea lounging around in one of the hammocks there sleeping lazily while her Sad Penguin micropet (which I really think looks like Linebeck in Zelda’s Phantom of the Hourglass Nintendo DS game) circles around her.

I then spotted Benjie Bean trying to fish in the Arid Pond we bought earlier while Celeine rests on the hammock after using the Jungle Swing. (The Jungle Swing is an old premium item its the huge tree there.)

After that muscle-aching fishing trying to catch some trouts, Benjie decided to go try the diving pond and rejuvenate his sore muscles. xD

At least I can enjoy the beach with my babies right now. xD I can experience the real thing once Kath and I push through with our vacation. Since my birthday is on the April 1st, I’ll be celebrating it in GoPets too so everyone’s pets are invited.
Menu consists of many tropical drinks, barbecue as well as desserts and coffee in case some pets get too much of these “drinks” and can’t drive home to their owner’s lands. xD
P.S. In case you are interested to try it out, please join through my inviter link ok? ^^

Do send me a message in case you are lost or something and I’ll try my best to help you out. I can also help you start out with a few green shells and some food to help you level up.^^ My beach land is also always open for visitors so you can bring your pets there to play and eat. I place food and drinks there at different times when I log-in so it will help in your leveling.

Yay for Puerto!
Since I posted earlier about wanting to go to Puerto Galera, it seems I will really be able to go there this April. Andrew will be going there on the 18th with Dennis as well as his high school friends. They’ll be staying there overnight since most of them have work already. Since the trip with Kath would be around the end of April, I figured I can go with Andrew too. Hopefully Au, Mina and Vicky replies if they could go as well. We haven’t been on a trip outside Manila for long time. The last one being Au’s debut in a resort in Batangas.
Since I’d like to drop a few pounds before the trip I considered taking a diet and jumpstart my gym workouts again since I haven’t been exercising since the end of February. Eeeeek. I did read for information in the internet and I saw something about Orovo. I didn’t know what it was at first but I read the site and it sounds good. Though I will have to stick with what I have at the moment which are oats and fiber drinks. Lol.

I want to go to Puerto.
My sister went to Boracay for the Holy Week with her officemates. She does need to get a break since she’s been in the call center for a year now. She’s been feeling sick a lot especially since her work entails late night shifts. Since I didn’t have funds back when they booked their tickets I wasn’t able to go with her. Now that its really hot here in Batangas, I wanted to go out and get a break myself from all my computer tasks. I need fresh air and I need the open sea. Seriously. I need to take some time away from the computer and spend it on a beautiful place like Puerto Galera at least as a birthday gift to myself.
I haven’t had a real vacation in years. I was eyeing Bohol earlier but I thought that it would be better to have extra pocket money for the vacation rather than spend it all on the round trip tickets from Manila to Tagbilaran. Since Puerto Galera is nearer, I’d rather visit it first, and then visit Bohol and Boracay later this year or next summer. Since I want it badly, I’m being uber thrifty this days so I can save up for the Puerto trip. Haha, I managed to talk to Kath earlier today and she wants to take a vacation as well. Her classes haven’t ended yet so we’ll be waiting a bit for her finals to finish. Hopefully more moolah comes this week as well as April and May. Since I have a bit of bills to pay I have to make sure that the trip were having doesn’t make too much of a dent in my pocket.
So instead of getting some of the much needed furniture in my room, like a new desk and chair for my computer, I’m opting for some discount furniture for the time being. I can get new ones once I get a better job opportunity than the one I’m currently in.
I’m even thinking of call centers again but everyone I know says it isn’t such a good idea especially since I get these really bad headaches. But we’ll see.

2nd EB with Ate Kengks

Last March 16, we met up with Ate Kengks again. I just followed them at around 8 pm and then we went to stay for a bit at Astoria where their family will be staying for the rest of their stay in Manila before they leave back for Germany.
I know I haven’t posted the pictures for the first EB, haha, I’ve been a wee bit lazy since they were a bit too many to resize but I will get to it as soon as I’m finished with some of the work I have to do.

Share your thoughts. :)
I was going around blogs and websites when I saw http://www.thoughts.com/. Like other sites that offer people free blogs or personal journals, members can easily upload photos, videos as well as podcasts that they would like to share to their readers.
Its also easy to keep some things private since you can toggle whether you want your specific blog entry to be publicly viewable or only available to your friends and family. Finding friends there is easy as well because it is community geared making other people and members aware of your posts so they can easily comment on your entries.
What is also interesting there is their forum. The forum provides a much more personal approach rather than just a network of blogs. Members can easily start topics and get feedback as well as answers to their questions. The main page of the site acts like a portal wherein recent posts and topics created by members are posted, as well as news, featured photos and videos. This makes it easier for members to find new content available because they can easily browse the main page for interesting entries that they might want to participate or comment in.
Blogging in a community can be so much fun especially for beginners. Sometimes its hard to start blogs on other networks because there are so many people already and there isn’t really much interaction going around them. Starting out in a community blog helps because you don’t have to worry much about finding ways of getting people to know that you have a blog somewhere in an obscure corner.
So if you just want to test blogging first you can go add Thoughts.com on your list for must-try blogging communities. It wouldn’t hurt to share your thoughts there.

Experienced alcohol poisoning or allergy?
Last night when we left Ate Kengk’s hotel, Gab, Ambo, Malen and I headed to Metrowalk to talk and drink. Discussions turned onto the topic of alcohol poisoning and we shared our experiences about it.
The worst alcohol poisoning or allergy I had experienced happened last year during my birthday. I had celebrated my birthday with some friends at Pier One and drank a bit of hard liquor. After a couple of hours sleep, I went back to Batangas since our family was waiting for me to celebrate it and I drank some more with my friends and neighbors. Shortly after we finished the tequila bottle, I felt feverish and took a shower before I slept. Dad woke me up around 3 am because I was having chills. Since I know I drank too much, I decided to tough it out and I did a lot of water therapy and peeing. To make matters worse, my whole body was red and bloated. The redness was very itchy and it stings. That lasted for two weeks. I haven’t drank much since then. These days when I do drink at some events, I only take a bottle and I stop.
I read some information before that Asians are more prone to it than other nationalities. I do have a high tolerance to alcohol that’s why I was surprised that I had those allergic reactions back then. Maybe its the whiskey and tequila that did it. I never did experience allergic reactions when I drank wine or beer.

My Pile of Treasure
I spent the night away eating chocolates. They looked so boring in the plastic bag they came with so I put them in my little coffee box and placed it beside the computer.
This way I can easily reach out for one when I’m staying up late and get the sugar rush I need. I write better at night since I’m more awake at night and the wee hours of the morning. My brain doesn’t really work well during daylight which is why this post looks lame. Haha. But I’m trying to do as much writing as I can before I leave later for my friend Mina’s post birthday celebration at their house. I will be off to see their baby, my little godson KC and I can probably steal him off when everyone is drunk already. Hehehe.
I’ll be seeing Au and Andrew later as well since they said they could come. Vicky on the other hand have another birthday party that she has agreed to attend already before Mina spilled her birthday plans so Vicky wouldn’t be showing up today. We haven’t been complete for awhile. Last time when KC had his baptism, only Vicky and Andrew came since Au and I had prior commitments already.
I miss them so much hopefully we can go out for my birthday and we can be complete. That will surely make my birthday complete (no need for the boyfriend I wished for last year.) Lol.

Sun Cellular sucks again?
I did blog around a week or two ago that the service and the network of Sun Cellular seems to have improved. I was able to easily call my family and friends who used Sun and loading was a breeze. I was even able to enjoy clear connections and had a distraction free talk time.
Yesterday I tried to load my account with the 1 month unlimited texting plan, the one with the free 4 hour calls. I couldn’t get it to load. I still can’t load it right now. I need the credits today since my previous plan expired today and I’m going to my friends birthday so I need to make some calls. Ugh. I hope it works out fine later today.

Alcoholics die young?
Earlier today, a family friend called to inform us that their brother who was in a coma at the hospital had died this morning. I was talking to Mom and she mentioned that he was only 46 which I think is quite too young to die. I was told that he was brought to the hospital because a vein in his heart burst and the reason was he drank a lot even though he had a heart condition and he didn’t take his medications as prescribed by the doctor.
In the US they have many alcohol rehabs that help alcoholics recover from their alcoholism. I just find it sad that in our country we do not have much services like these that can help many of our fellow Filipinos recover from their incessant drinking. Alcoholics or “lassengos” as we call them need help from rehabs to be able to avoid drinking and find other outlets or solutions for their problems. If only we had proper services given to the people by the government instead of them pocketing it, maybe we’d be able to find more people living their lives rather than sitting in a street corner chugging alcohol with their friends to forget their financial problems.
