Clay Pots & Wooden Spoons

I’m not used to celebrating with new neighbors that I’m not quite sure what would be good gifts for a housewarming? I was thinking of a vase or some candles but I thought maybe flowers might work. I think they’re the most non-awkward gift because you wouldn’t have to guess what kind of “style” they have because flowers work well with almost any style.

Though if I’m not too busy maybe I can just make a home-cooked dish or a baked-from-scratch cake. If I’m out of time, the flowers would be a great alternative to the home-cooked stuff.

When we have family or friends confined in hospitals, I rarely visit them. It’s not that I don’t care, I’m just not comfortable in hospitals especially those that are too white and stoic. Plus hospitals make me think of expensive doctor’s fees, medicines and bland food. I’m glad I haven’t needed hospitalization this year, we dont have medical insurance like Blue Cross Blue Shield NC so we have to pay in cash all the time. Hospital stays, at times, still a bit expensive even with insurance. Just think how its even more expensive without insurance.

This year my Mom and younger brother got hospitalized and we ended up spending more then P50k for them. T_T

Barely. We finally overcame some of our financial problems for the past few months and we have a working internet connection. I also don’t feel as stressed and depressed as with the previous months and I feel ready to start anew. I still haven’t found a stable job but I am working on it with my college buddy who just got laid off from her previous work. It’s quite tough finding jobs these days but at least we still have food on the table and my siblings still go to school. I just hope and pray that one of these days, we’ll finally get more than enough funds so we can start our own business. One of Dad’s friends has offered his help in starting up an internet cafe and I’ve been trying to find a good locations for it. We’ve been looking for a couple of months now but the newly built buildings we find always have reserved tenants who’s putting up internet shops. I hope we find one soon because it would really be a lot of help for our family.

Mom has been quite active in finding clients for the pipes. She’s really enjoying being a product consultant for them. If we get a store in the future, she’ll do well being the salesperson. I think even selling Mopar performance parts would be easy for her. I, on the other hand, prefer being in the background. I like doing everything behind-the-scenes. I can do what needs to be done, I just don’t like being pushed into the spotlight. xD

I really don’t like it when other people use my computer. My siblings use it so I end up seeing the things they research about from time to time. It doesn’t help that my sister is taking up nursing. A few weeks ago I woke my computer from sleep and was surprised to see the browser opened to www.reliefhemorrhoid.com. Whenever she does her research for her classes, she leaves the browser open. That is why I have learned not to bring food on the computer. I don’t want to lose my appetite.
