Frustrated over NWA.com’s website design.

You might notice that I have changed the theme design of the blog. I was using a dreary white one earlier and it wasn’t only me who noticed. Some friends did come up to me to mention that my blog seem to have lost color and is looking a bit gloomy. I decided that although I did enjoy that white and grey one, it was just too plain and quite unappealing. I decided to look for a better design and I was quite lucky that I found the perfect theme for me.

Website Design is a tricky process. Sure it is easy to whip up some design over at Photoshop and find someone to code it for you (or if you don’t have the budget you can go scour the internet for free themes) but the difficulty lies in determining whether it suites your site. Choosing designs for personal blogs might be easier but for some websites, how people an easily find what they need is crucial. If they have spent ten minutes already trying to find where they can find a specific product or where they can reach you, chances are you will lose that customer due to frustration with your sites actual usability for its target market.

Earlier I was browsing the site for Northwest Airlines because Tita Myrna was interested in adding her email to avail of the 1,000 bonus miles that NWA.com mentioned in their newsletter to her. I’ve been using the Internet for a long time already and believe me, I have never been frustrated with other sites compared to NWA.com. Finding the section where to add her email address was a serious pain. I’m not even sure if the section where I added it was the correct one. Seriously their site needs to be more user-friendly especially since some of their World Perks members are the elderly. If they got me confused, believe me other would most likely be confused.

It is important for your website to rank well on the search engines especially if you want probable clients to find your company. Search Engine Optimization has been widely used by many companies and while I do agree that it is important, I really do feel that you’d need to have a website that is geared toward your clients. Meaning the first thing a company must make sure of would be the actual usability and functionality of the site to their clients. No matter how good your SEO Marketing campaign is, it will not help you acquire more customers simply because they cannot get what they need from your site.

Learn to balance your design with your marketing campaigns and you will see that it will work better in converting those leads into actual sales. If you don’t have a dedicated team that can balance both for your company you can try looking for web design and seo marketing services from web design teams such as Nvisolutions.com. It is better to spend on a fully functioning website that will help improve your profits in the long run.
