Tanauan is changing…

I was going around our town earlier and I saw that there were quite a lot of new stores and establishments than a few weeks ago. One of the groceries we frequented even had half of it renovated and rented to some Chinese investors and put up a P99 store. A few meters away, another large land had been transformed into a large tiangge which resembles the 168 mall. Read more

Busy for the holidays

December 23, 2007 · Filed Under Family Stuff · Comment

I haven’t been online due to the holiday rush. Haha. I’ve been staying at my sister’s dorm for a bit since we are fixing the place up for this coming term. I’m planning on staying there this coming January so were trying to move things and making the place look and feel like home. We got back here in Batangas yesterday. It was quite hard to get back home since there were lots of commuters that were trying to go home last night. We had to line up and wait for the third bus since there were really lots of people at the bus station.

I just learned last night that Mom is having trouble with her health, and Dr. Reyes advised her to go on a low sodium diet. She has also been going to the hospital daily to get her blood pressure checked.Since Mom was advised to avoid several foods (actually its quite a lot) I have to adjust my planned dishes for tomorrow. She really wants carbonara but she has to avoid dairy stuff too, so I’m still trying to find a way to make something that she’ll like with low sodium content. I’ll also be saving with my sister some funds to get one of the treadmills at the health shop we went to. Mom can really use it to exercise each day while she watches TV or DVDs.

Christmas rush and too much people everywhere.

December 18, 2007 · Filed Under College Life and DLSU, Random Ramblings · 2 Comments

I overheard my mom talking with my aunt about their plans on getting a new tonneau cover for their truck. Haha, so that’s what those pick-up truck thingies are called. So yesterday after I got my course card for Conadev, I went to Makati to pick-up Au from their office (Island Rose) since we were having dinner with Andrew and Vicky in Megamall. :) I took a cab (and paid P100 hehe) and got dropped of at Greenbelt 3, I had to ask for directions to get to Greenbelt 5 which was near Au’s office. I stayed there for a bit since Au had to finish some work stuff before she can leave. When we got to the MRT station, the line was so long. v.v Even the trains were packed with people rushing home from work and shopping.

Seriously, this is not the best time to have those Christmas dinners with your friends. There’s just too much people everywhere. Hahaha.

Burning Bridges is never easy, but it must be done.

December 17, 2007 · Filed Under Random Ramblings · Comment

The cold dark night keeps me company as I look out my window tonight.
Staring at nothing, thinking of everything.

I can still picture your smile,
I can still hear your laughter,
I can still smell your scent.
Your touch lingers on my naked skin,
So vivid that it pains me.
Knowing that you were never really there.

My hand caresses the only thing I have of you.
A glistening gold chain wrapped around my neck.
A bond that once meant a promise that was never kept.

The cold wind blows softly on my cheeks,
Yet it does nothing to numb the ache and pain within me.
For the stream of my wet warm tears, burn and scald my face.

I’ve waited much longer than my strength can endure.
This chain which once wrapped around my neck beautifully,
Is now a burden I’ve carried for too long.

Its weight was my anchor.
My reason to wait for that shadow that will never come.
It was my excuse.

I’m taking it off now.
I don’t need it anymore.
I am ready for the wind to sail me away,
To a world farther than where I was stuck.
To a place where I can be free of you.

Be happy for me.
I’ve finally found myself again.

The “Who would you like to call this Christmas?” Giveaway

December 15, 2007 · Filed Under Random Ramblings · 4 Comments

I posted a few days ago about wanting to do a small giveaway since I’ve been blessed in blogging.^^ Since this is the very first giveaway I will be holding, I wanted it to be simple and easy to do, both for those who would like to participate and to me as well in sending the prizes. That is why, instead of giving away bodybuilding supplements, I thought of doing a prepaid load giveaway for this month with the theme, “Who would you like to call this Christmas?”.

Christmas is a season we Filipinos love to share with our loved ones. Though we may want to be together, that is not always the case. Some of us have family and friends who might be living in another town or city, another province, another island or even another country. So,

If you had the chance to call any person for Christmas, even if it is just for a few minutes, who will it be and why?

Those who wish to participate can join the giveaway either through answering the theme’s question by commenting here, or creating a blog entry (with a link back to this post) in their own blogs.

For those who comment here, 3 commenters will be chosen to receive a P30 load (either Globe, Smart, Touch Mobile and Talk and Text). 3 random winners to be determined by a random draw through numbered papers (based from the comment list) in a cup. xD

Those who join by creating a blog entry with a link back to this post, 3 will be chosen to receive P100 worth of load (either Globe or Smart). One for the most touching reason, another two to be determined by a random draw through numbered papers in a cup. :)

This giveaway will run until December 23, 6pm. Then I will choose the blog entry after that and do the random draw so I can post the winners early on the 24th. This hopefully will give them enough time to send me the #’s where to send the prepaid load that they won before the network traffic on the 24th hits everyone.^^

Feel free to pass the message to your friends who might be interested. The giveaway is open to everyone, especially Pinoys. If you are living overseas, as long as you have friends or family here in the Philippines to whom I can send the load in case you won, you are also welcome to join.
