I was rummaging through one of the wooden trunks that was covered with cobwebs and dust earlier and I found some of our old woodworking magazines that we had stuck there. A few years back Dad became interested in them and had been buying lots of magazines that were supposed to be used on woodworking projects. Though they weren’t really used since Dad became busy with the school administration so less time for other projects were available. Good thing he didn’t get any body shop supplies yet or else it would’ve been left unused as well.
It made me think of the goals and projects I wanted to start before. I had lots of them, but something always came up that I had to leave each one behind. I look back and regret not going through each one as I have planned. I seem to have let other things which seemed important keep me from finishing and achieving my personal goals. Things I thought were necessary, things I chose to finish for other people. This coming year, I’m not just making a list of my New Year’s resolutions. I’m going to make them a priority. I don’t know how much time I have left in this world, so instead of thinking I have a infinite time to do the things important for me after other tasks that are not really important, I’m going to make my time tangible. I have to organize the time I have properly so I can use it properly.
I’m making 2008 a year for my personal change. I’ll do my best to drop my bad habits and get started on good ones. If I don’t do it for myself, no one else will.
