Tanauan is changing…
I was going around our town earlier and I saw that there were quite a lot of new stores and establishments than a few weeks ago. One of the groceries we frequented even had half of it renovated and rented to some Chinese investors and put up a P99 store. A few meters away, another large land had been transformed into a large tiangge which resembles the 168 mall. If you haven’t been here for a few months, you will be quite surprised at all the changes. I’m also surprised as to the efficiency of the builders. Most of these establishments haven been done in around 1-2 months, and that is quite fast compared to the buildings and projects funded by the government which have been around for some time now and is still not finished. It really shows that a project can really be finished if people look after its implementation and the enough funds is given to it.
Speaking of buildings, I was browsing around the internet and I read some articles about asbestos and mesothelioma. I didn’t know it was such a huge thing back in the US before. One of the cases I read, the person who suffered mesothelioma won around $8 in damages to his health caused by the asbestos he inhaled in the duration of his work for a ship. If that happened here, one would have a hard time winning against a large company unless he really had a good mesothelioma lawyer. Its a bit saddening because sometimes in our country, money talks more than justice does.
