Xoom and Paypal saves the day!

I have been using Xoom and Paypal since late last year and I am quite familiar with their services. Now that Paypal Philippines has been fully activated for our country, my use for these services has slightly changed. Back then, all my Xoom transactions were mainly for receiving funds from people I deal with around the globe, while I use Paypal normally to pay for my online purchases such as my domain and hosting needs, e-books, as well as for my online game subscriptions. These days, I’ve been using Paypal more for receiving funds from people.

Earlier today, (actually before my 11.40 am class) I was in need of some cash and my Paypal had some available funds, around $50, so I decided to test sending my mom the cash using Xoom. I transferred the funds from my Personal Paypal account to my Verified Premier Paypal account, and then I sent the money through Xoom, and its now ready for pick-up. I was weary to do so earlier because I had read in someone’s blog post (I really can’t remember who) about Xoom returning the money they sent especially those under $100. After having successfully sent the money, I’d think the reason why their transactions have been refunded would be they sent from a personal account which has not yet been verified, or it could also be that your account (even if it is premier already) might be relatively new and have not yet been used for online purchases. I know that Xoom can be quite particular since some of the people I’ve transacted before did have a hard time sending me cash through it since they lacked some security numbers or documents which Xoom was asking before they can send their payments.

I’m not that ecstatic about Xoom’s exchange rate, but since I still don’t have the Unionbank Eon card (I’ve heard some people are having trouble seeing their paypal funds reflected in their eon accounts and it takes a bit of a time before these bank transfers are done…) I am quite satisfied for the time being. At least I have the cash to keep me at bay for this coming week still. Lol.

P.S. I was really trying to save that money for Christmas (and just withdraw it all before the holidays) but I really needed it so I gave in and cashed it. Hopefully I get to earn some more money online before November ends so I can get myself something for Christmas. Hahaha. I better get started on answering those surveys and getting more paid posts as soon as possible.
