Business over vanity.
October 17th, 2007
I remember one time I was in Ystilo having my nails done for my friend’s wedding. The stylists were all talking about the show in QTv about 3 women getting a complete makeover, which included everything even plastic surgery. They started talking about nose jobs, boob jobs and liposuction and the people they know who had them. Its just weird in a way because I heard them speak of friends using all their savings to get fixed and you can hear the slight hint of jealousy in their voices.
It made me think what I’d do if I get a huge sum of cash by chance. Would I get liposuction (I’m overweight so obviously that would be the natural choice) or would I use it for something else? I’m not a hypocrite to say that I’m not vain. I can be vain sometimes but not really to the point of having needles or lasers poking on my body (I’m a wee bit scared of needles and knives). I might be wanting to lose weight (I posted it as a goal back then) but not that bad that I’d use up a good sum of money and get myself fixed immediately. Being an entrepreneurship student, I’d think of investing that money first into several business which I can earn from and when I have some extra cash, then maybe that’s the time I’d try plastic surgery.
I’m not to keen of plastic surgery here in the Philippines still, and my aunt had it in the US. I’m not to sure where but then there are a lot of cities there which offer these services. One of these cities are in Michigan. Detroit cosmetic surgery practitioners have increased over the years and its one of the cities where cosmetic surgery is getting popular. Maybe one day Manila would be a haven for cosmetic surgeons too, and its not far from happening with the rise of cosmetic clinics like Belo, Calayan, Beverly Hills 6750 and the rest whose names I’ve forgotten.
P.S. Business over vanity at the moment, but then vanity can be a good business base too. Maybe I’d go start my own cosmetic clinic as an investment in the future…then I can have the surgery for free. Lol.

it is also not a choice for me to undergo lipo if i am overweight. would definitely choose the ‘not so difficult’ way, which is to exercise. i also think that to go under the knife is like violating our body. but that’s just me talking.

@bingskee: Yup, I’d definitely try and exhaust all other possible means to lose weight muna. Its different for people who’s problem isn’t their weight I guess. Kasi there are some things you can’t change without having surgery like facial structures. Buti na lang weight issues ang meron ako, I don’t think I can really go through facial surgeries just to make me look beautiful.
