How did you come up with your blogs title?

I have other blogs scattered around the web, especially on social communities I’m part of. These blogs have different names, but mostly of personal content since I am not really keen on product blogs and the like. Looking at my blogs, it made me think how other people name their blogs. O.o

Well its not like people change their blog names whenever it suites them. Most of the time the name they started with sticks. I think for my personal blogs in those social communities, the names of my blogs relate to how I felt when I started them. One of them is named after the weird things that happen to me and some of my thoughts on it. Another one is named into something that sounds like a haven or a home of some sort.

Well this one is named Clay Pots and Wooden Spoons simply because “Sandok at Palayok” stands for, Sandok = Wooden Spoons and Palayok = Clay Pots.

I was planning on actually making a website that is much like a travelogue, where people can learn more of about my country which is the Philippines. I know there are tons of site already out there but I still wanted to make one to clear some misconceptions, generalizations and other things others say which is simply not true for all Filipinos here. You know, just make a site where people, interested in learning about us, our food and the places thats great to visit, will be able to get it. I was just sick of the sites I went to, like the recipe ones were all copied from a dozen other sites. So yeah that was what I was gonna do with the site but I’m lazy and I’m not so great with coding so I’m starting with a blog and hopefully get started on the site.

Alright, back to the blogs name. I used that because I remember when I was little our grandmothers and our friends’ grandmothers use them in cooking using chopped wood as the fire source. Somehow food cooked on them taste differently and much much better than the ones we do now using brass and steel pots and electric stoves and ranges. Also I was thinking it symbolizes what my website aims, to feed people’s minds about Filipino culture and their lifestyle, to enable them to taste and sample our dishes through our recipes and to show them the beautiful places and people that we have in our country.

Idealistic? Maybe.
